You’re welcome
Bidford Baptist at theBarn is a growing church with lively music, great children’s work, arts events, youth, small groups, CaféMum, Stay & Play, Alpha courses and Mix, a ministry for people with learning disabilities. We’re seven years old, and we’ve been at theBarn in Waterloo Road since February 2012.
Most of our members come from the area round Bidford as far as Studley and Stratford, but some come from Redditch, Warwick and even Cheltenham. The services are relaxed and informal, and everyone is welcome.
The best way to explain what it’s like is something one of our members said a while back: “It’s the kind of church that, if you visit it one week, you’ll want to go back the next — and so will your kids”.
How it all began
We started as a church in 2005 at the Crawford Hall — previously we had been a home group of just eight people.
By 2011 we had grown to 150, and there was no longer a public building in the village big enough for us, so we started looking for a new home.
Very sadly, round the same time, Bungo’s Barn, an indoor playground loved by lots of Bidford children, had to close down.
We talked to the owners, and to the Parish Council and the planners, and, finally, on 6 January 2012, we took possession of the building. We spent January and the first half of February working to renovate it, and it’s now finished, ready, and in use.
Because we loved Bungo’s Barn, and because it was so well known, we decided to stick with the name The Barn for the building.
Just in case you’re wondering, it isn’t an old barn which has been converted, but a modern unit which is now spick and span and just right for us.
We hope it will be just right for you as well. We want to extend you a very warm welcome to a church which is vibrant, alive, relevant, and here for everyone.
Bidford Baptist — a growing church.
